new friends.

Today was a wonderful day. Joe and I (along with chubs and skinny mini) went out to lunch to celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary which was on Sunday.  We really don’t go out to eat much so it was a treat.  I didn’t have to cook at all today, because for dinner- we went over to the Soldatke’s.  Their son Matthew was born with hydrocephalus 2 months ago and since we all live in Lincoln we planned a get together! They really are a lovely, sweet family and we  look forward to getting to know them better in the future. It was so great to be able to sit and talk about our experiences and our doctors (we have many of the same doctors). Little Matthew is a lucky guy! He has 2 big brothers and a big sister that absolutely adore him.  The Soldatke children are so well behaved. I feel like 2 kids are too much to handle- I don’t know how Jill makes FOUR look so easy?! You can read their family blog HERE.

Hey there! I just found this blog after I received an email from a friend at our local Pregnancy Resource Center stating that her granddaughter who is at the middle of her 2nd trimester had just been told that her baby has hydrocephalus. They are struggling. My friend, Jeanmarie, is a believer, but her granddaughter is not as strong in her faith as her grandmother. I do not know her granddaughter’s email, but I could share my friend’s email if you would be interested in contacting her and let her know some of the positive things you have said here and that this diagnosis is not the end of the world, but a beginning of a unique journey.
God bless you,
Darla
