story about a room.

21 12 2009

When I went to pick up Greta from preschool on her very first day of school, she was not with the other students, but had wandered up the stairs and was in her teacher’s daughters’ room. Greta’s teacher of course, knew right where she was.  There have been several instances where I have come to pick her up and she had to be summoned out of this little girl’s room.  Then, finally a couple months ago when I went to pick up Greta, she ran away from me into the bedroom and I followed her in. My response was “oooooooooooooooooohh.” . I suddenly understood why she wanted to spend time in this little girl’s room.  It was pink and purple and everything frilly and fabulous! When we moved into this house almost a year ago, we didn’t do much with her room, as we weren’t sure how long we’d be staying. So, her bedroom at home was pretty lack luster. That was when I came up with the idea for her birthday present. While she was staying with friends for Miles’ MRI, we worked quickly to transform her room. On the day of her surprise, she was soooo excited!!!

What a sweet surprise and oh how precious that she wanted a space that completely reflected the Diva that she is.
